Week 7 Verizon Move More Challenge

I’m very excited to partner with Verizon Wireless to Host the Verizon Wireless Move More Challenge

I’m not going to lie, this winter has been tough for me because I don’t enjoy cold or snow. My street is still snow covered, but at least most neighbors clear the sidewalk so I can walk around and back a few time.

weather

And that snow is much better than these temperatures, although if you wake up at 4:45am sometimes that is the warmest part of the day. The hard part is wearing enough clothing to cover up on the way out of the gym. Two friends recommended that I put the Fitbit on my shoe and that seems to help track my movement better than before, so instead of getting about 2000 steps in 45 minutes, it is more like 6000!

All that said on those days when I feel trapped inside, I do what I can by jumping around because that creates warmth! If your day includes Netflix marathons and naps, you can do one set between episodes starting without feeling like you’ve done nothing all day. To keep the variety, I’ll give you three sets to try and if you’re feeling like a boss, do each set twice and throw in a plank before settling back down for another show!

5 burpees
10 mountain climbers
5 burpees

5 squats
10 plank jacks
5 squats

5 push ups
10 jump lunges
5 push ups

Be sure to leave a comment and let me know how you’re moving more!

Yeah. I am with you. I am so over the cold. I have been continuing with Zumba and I tried a step class for the first time last week. Um. That was hilarious. I actually tripped and fell over my step, not once, not twice THREE TIMES! haha. But I am trying. 🙂

How often do you get your 10,000 in? I mean, it is impossible if you don’t work out that day. At least for me it is. We went to the zoo today and I swear I walked a million miles (I’m tired!) and I only got 6,000 for the day. Or so says my iphone app. Maybe it’s wrong. I’m going with that.

I’m glad the weather is nice. Winter was brutal this year.

The last 10 days of February, I put my Jillian Michaels videos away and whipped out a 10-day work out video called “10 days to a better body.” You can do just upper body (30 minutes), just lower body (30 minutes), or both (60 minutes). I love the short times that are available because I don’t have the attention span for an hour sometimes! Would love to see how fitbit compares this video to my jillian videos…

We had a nice early spring for MN, but we’ve gotten a couple snowfalls this week and I’m ready for it to warm up again – it was wonderful!

I tried your sets. Number one about killed me. Burpees are HARD! I had to look up plank jack. Um. No! I can almost do set three without looking like a total fool. And there you have it. It was quite a show to watch.

Not gonna lie, February and half of Jan. had me really demotivated. I walked, with the occasional DVD workout in the home.

Now that it’s a bit warmer I’m much more motivated to go on a quick evening walk. I’m looking forward to an earlier sunrise so I can get back into my habit of walking before work.
