I’m very excited to partner with Verizon Wireless to Host the Verizon Wireless Move More Challenge
Are you still with me or at least moving on your own?
Have you found yourself parking at the far end of the grocery store parking lot so you can snag a little more movement? Do you take a lap around the cul-de-sac before fetching your trash cans or getting the mail? Do you circle cubicle land before heading to the breakroom or restroom? Do you make multiple trips and up and down the stairs doing laundry? Or is that just me trying to keep up with my friends on Fitbit who seem to work at treadmill desks or have jobs of perpetual motion?!
Be sure to leave a comment letting me know how you’re adding a few more steps to your every day. Remember each comment serves as an entry to win one of three Fitbit Charge from Verizon Wireless Midwest Area.
I’ve had a good days and I’ve had terrible days and it seems to coincide with the weather. When it is warmer, I’m inclined to find stuff to do outside. Still, I’m encouraged by the community of friends on Fitbit who issue challenges. It is the same motivation I get from posting workout-related photos on Instagram, it isn’t to brag but to connect with others who are working out and give to and feed off their energy.
The Verizon Wireless Move More Challenge (Official Rules) runs from January 5 to March 31, 2015 and open to all my friends and readers in OH, PA, WV, KY, MI, IN, ND, SD, MN, IA, NE, IL and WI who are interested in adding more activity in their lives. Each comment left on my blog posts will serve as entry in the final drawing for one of three Fitbit Charge from Verizon Wireless. If you want to get social, tag your posts with #MoveMoreVZW so I can find them.

February 6, 2015 at 8:08 amIt’s cold!!! so I do 10 push ups, 8 squat jacks, and run in place when I get home = instant warmness and exercise bonus points.
Fitbit is perfect for this time of year because we naturally cheat by parking closer to the store and avoid walking outside at all costs!

February 6, 2015 at 9:52 amWow! It is week 5 already??? I have been tracking my steps with the thing in my phone. I am getting more, but still not 10,000! That is so many! Hopefully my phone app is just wrong. 🙂

February 11, 2015 at 10:12 amThese cold days get me too! I just keep holding out hope that another warm day is around the corner. Shouldn’t be too bad today so I’m heading out at lunch to do the steps in Mt Adams.

February 11, 2015 at 9:38 pmI started a walking group in Clermont county to try and motivate myself and my friends to be more active. Since I am on lots of medication for my Crohns, my weight has been up and down and sideways, so I wanted a way to help keep my body more active and less stressed. I started Yoga in November and walking this January. Even when it is cold, I encourage my friends to walk with me at the mall in eastgate. I have already lost 8 lbs! It is so important to be happy with your body and to maintain your health. You can’t try and fit the mold of “health” that society throws at you. It has to be something that you discover works for you. Every person can reach their perfect health and all it takes is determination and belief in yourself!

February 14, 2015 at 1:38 pmWell, I have been moving more. And eating more. What the heck? I am way more hungry since I’ve been working out. What do you snack on? Kind bars and ….

February 14, 2015 at 10:36 pmI’ve joined up with some others to walk/run 2015 in 2015. I can’t let my team members down, so even when it was really cold (not the below zero days), I get out with my husband and walk the two miles up and down the road.

March 22, 2015 at 9:48 pmI do park further away from the entrance of a store to get my steps in. Plus, it just feels good.

March 23, 2015 at 12:50 pmStill with ya! I participated in a Biggest Loser Contest at work and lost a legitimate (some people weighed in with the heaviest boots they own on initial weigh-in day… I weighed in with barefeet) 5 pounds. I stayed true to my Jillian Michael’s 90-day Challenge Work-out videos. I definitely noticed a difference in my body after 30 days. Would be nice to have a fitbit to see how those videos get me moving!

March 23, 2015 at 4:41 pmI love that picture BTW. The museum center has steps that say “Watch Your Step” like that! You should go and take a picture! And walk the steps a few times to get some extra steps in! 🙂

March 25, 2015 at 11:31 pmHey! Thanks for letting me know about your love for the Charge. It is basically my dream tracker. This is the post linked in your IG profile, but I’ll search for a newer one to comment on. Thanks again for letting me know!

March 30, 2015 at 12:12 pmI love your ideas for moving more. I could easily walk around the culdesac when I get the mail or garbage cans! And I do always look for the closest spot at stores! I need to change my thinking. I think competing with friends for steps is an awesome way to get motivated. 🙂

March 31, 2015 at 9:09 amI need to sneak more movement in during the work day. I have a job where I primarily sit at my desk. As it gets warmer I hope to take a few laps around the parking lot throughout the day to move more.

March 31, 2015 at 9:27 pmI’m a parking lot walker in order to give my eyes a break and move my body just a little more than desk sitting!
