Looking through Pinterest, I was amazed to see how many times the Milk Jug Lunch Box idea has been pinned. Then, it occurred to me I never shared that this was an idea I did do at home, not just blog about on Lunch It Punch It.
I filled my gallon jug with paper, string, glue stick and a pen so that I can make Valentine cards on the go.
The Kroger milk jugs have a bubble unlike the one in the example photo (not shown), so mine has an odd shape. I also cut down a half-gallon jug to see what it would look like, but I haven’t filled it. But it is ready for small items.
I know when this was posted on LifeHacker people commented on the Facebook post that it was gross to pack a lunch in it, I guess they thought you packed a sandwich loose in the container, not within sandwich bag?? I don’t know about you, but even though I use a lunch bag, I still use containers inside not just dump spaghetti in the bag – ha! Others said plastic bags are better, which is fine if you’re not looking to reuse something headed to the recycle bin.
