Recipe: Kim’s Hot Dog Salad

With all the excitement of CPG recipes, I thought I’d offer up an equally delightful (or frightful) recipe that I remember hearing on my favorite morning radio show, Bob & Sheri. If you listen to Kim tell Bob and Sheri his recipe you’ll see why I confused it as a prison recipe.

Kim’s Hot Dog Salad

2 lbs of all beef franks
1 cup onions, chopped
½ cup celery, chopped
2 cans dark red kidney beans
4 hard boiled eggs, chopped
1 tbsp pickle relish
½ cup mayo
chili sauce

Mix together and serve on a bed of lettuce

Please note: I have a great sense of humor while I have no plans to make this I would love to hear of any ridiculous recipes from your friends, family or even those who have served time since inmate recipes is sparse (but the ramen recipe looks oh so appealing)!

For those who don’t realize there are prison or inmate cookbooks, here are a few along with some slow cookers and cookbooks

I think I’ll make this for the next food day at work, and as an added bonus I’ll use LightLife veggie dogs… Think that would go over well?

    steve,

LightLife veggie dogs re the most awful-tasting veg stuff on the planet. i think if you added that to this recipe, it would take it from #VomNotNom to #HeadExplosion

Maureen, with the holiday season approaching there’s many opportunities to squeeze this recipe into at least one party or work party like Steve mentions. oh the work chatter it would create!

I think it’s appropriate that my prior post is how to protect my recipe and I hope Kim did 😉
