Philly Cheese Steak

I haven’t had the opportunity to visit Philadelphia yet, but I have to think that a place that could come up a sandwich as wonderful as the Philly Cheese Steak would have to be awesome.  In the mean time I will have to continue making my version of their famous sandwich!

Ribeye steak cut into very thin pieces (it is easier to cut if your meat isn’t completely thawed)
onions
garlic
banana peppers
salt and pepper
oil
provolone cheese
mayonnaise (optional)
french bread

Combine cut meat, onions, garlic, banana peppers, salt, and pepper in an oiled skillet.  Cook until meat is done…this doesn’t take very long!  Put meat, cheese, and mayonnaise on bread and put in the oven until the cheese is melted.

The fries look really good too. Do you deep fry these or bake them in the oven.

That’s what I noticed, the fries! What’s the story on those, FM?

The fries were great, I must say! These were made with our wonderful and handy french fry cutter. I will have to share pics sometime soon. We deep fried these on the stove top, but have also tried them in the oven with success. A note about french fries…they are best if you put them in very cold water in the frig for a while before cooking. Just make sure to dry them off as completely as possible before putting them in the oil!
