Thanks to being a blogger in Cincinnati, my friends and I attended a party for the opening of Star Lanes on the Levee and Toro. According to Star Lanes twitter profile, it is a boutique bowling experience, blending bowling with technology and plush amenities to create an upscale bowling atmosphere.
Having been to Lucky Strike in Chicago, I was excited to see Northern Kentucky (Cincinnati) get a similar venue (Star Lanes is operated by Lucky Strike Entertainment). The main bar area has 12 bowling lanes, but there are also four lanes in a private party room. Nearby, there is a billards bar that opens up to a patio with tables. Then, in Toro there is the mechanical bull, a DJ, a bar and also garage doors that open up to a patio with tables. Apparently there is also a private room, which I did not see, but I did note that there were only two stalls in the ladies room.
I am happy my friends and I got to check it out: free food, drinks, bull rides and bowling it was quite the party for us non-business, non-media regular consumers who never get to enjoy this kind of treatment! Two rode the bull, we all enjoyed our drinks and collectively we sampled just about every bite that was carried out of the kitchen, the favorites being the coconut shrimp, mini burger and mini BBQ chicken sandwich with an onion ring!
You will notice from my photos we did not bowl and did not venture too from from the mechanical bull. We missed getting bowling reservations on the way in and by the time I figured out where to go, the wait was 90 minutes 🙁 Two of my friends and I have December birthdays and I think having a half-birthday party in June would be fun, but seeing the costs I think it would be a pricey party.
