Next to the work table in my craft room, I have shelves that have some recycled glass jars with pens, scissors, decorative tape, thread, ribbon, zippers, trims and little toys. In between are little tokens from my childhood, like the M&M sunglasses, Slinky and Ben & Jerry’s truck.
It is such a colorful display, but also very useful. I always have my color pens and scissors handy. If I’m working on a scrapbook and want tape, I just have to reach up for it. The sewing supplies are easy to keep track of now rather than before when they were in a box on a shelf under the table. The ribbon are pieces that are not long enough to keep on the spools, which can take up a lot of space.
This has made me more aware of what and how much I have so I’m more inclined to use because I can easily locate it.
I’m seeing the end of the light in my quest to downsize and get organized!

Going upward in a small space does wonders! One of my first projects in my new house was to re-shelf all the the closets to make full use of the vertical space.
