Last night, I met up with my friends to see their sister-in-law sing in a band. Although it is four month’s before my friend’s birthday, I gave him his birthday gift. I have fallen into a bad habit of wrapping gifts, sticking them in the closet and forgetting to bring them along at the appropriate time. I do better at early gift-giving than on-time, my mom received her mother’s day gift in February and this friend received last year’s birthday gift not too long ago! As we were talking about this, they said their father says, “why delay happiness?” I think that’s a terrific adage to remember, within reason.

If you can pay afford happiness (and it comes in many shapes and forms), go for it!
