Just checkin’ in to see how things are going for everyone? We ladies of Lunch it Punch it just celebrated our 100th time of packing our lunches.(Granted we ate out a few times when we packed 10) We had some good food from a pizza joint in town, cokes, and M&M’s. It was a great way to wrap up 100 packed lunches. What have all of you been doing to reward yourselves for packing 10? We’d love to hear some new and different ways to make packing lunch fun.
What’s up Wednesday!

February 23, 2011 at 4:03 pmPlus, we got to celebrate our 100th day with FM’s sister! It’s a big day in libraryland when we have lunch dates 🙂
I know reading through replies on Twitter people are using this in their own way, so I hope they chime in because it might inspire others.

February 24, 2011 at 12:17 pmSo far, Lunch It Punch It is going well… although I keep losing track of how many lunches I’ve packed, because I’m still eating out once or twice a week! My reward for 10 lunches packed will be an Abby Girl Sweets cupcake. I am SO looking forward to it. I just downloaded my cards today so I can keep up with it better.

February 24, 2011 at 8:07 pmI’m glad to see you have been working toward it. I think the cupcake sounds like a great way to reward yourself. I haven’t had Abby Cupcakes before, but I’ve’ heard they’re good.

February 24, 2011 at 12:18 pmI like to reward myself with soy lattes when I complete a card. As for ways to make lunch packing fun, I especially like to make more involved food on the weekend for the week ahead. Last weekend I made tamales, the previous weekend, stuffed grape leaves. I always try to change up what we (my hubby Rob and I) eat for lunch so we don’t get bored with the same lunches day after day. I also love to bake so I’ll usually include some sort of sweet treat a few times a week. Usually either a mini-scone, 2 cookies, or occasionally a piece of coffeecake. Although the sweets usually get eaten on my mid-morning break instead of for dessert at lunchtime 🙂

February 24, 2011 at 8:11 pmIt is good to change it up, it helps you look forward to your lunch and want to eat it instead of going out. Today I had a ham wrap and it was one of those boring lunches. Udandi and I actually were trying to think of ways to spruce it up. We thought maybe some hummus might help. Keep it up!

February 24, 2011 at 9:58 pmThe entire concept of Lunch It, Punch It came at a very opportune time for me. I had been looking for ways to improve my overall health and lose weight. Along with commencing a long term swimming program, I have found Lunch It, Punch It to be a great addition to my lifestyle makeover. Each day I pack a simple lunch: turkey sandwich, fresh apple/banana and a bottle of water. It’s not original, of course, but it’s been working for me. Maybe I should download a card? I’ve never been good at writing things down, but somehow I am able to keep tract of things.
Since I travel throughout the county for work, my eating out options vary depending where I’m at. Without question, working downtown and NOT sampling one of the myriad dinning opportunities is hard.

February 25, 2011 at 11:55 amThanks for coming over and commenting Andy! Andy is the mayor of the Cincinnati location of Lunch It Punch It’s virtual cafeteria on Foursquare so in a way he is keeping track – he can see how many times he’s checked in at that location (aka packed).
I’m slowly adding the Lunch It Punch It venue in other cities, so other Foursquare fans can by like Andy!

February 25, 2011 at 10:23 amWell, I pack lunches for my boys every single weekday morning and eat at home at least 4 out of the 5 weekdays and most of the time all 5. It’s just so much healthier to eat your own food and you guys deserve a big hats off for hitting 100!! Have a wonderful weekend!
