Week 9 Verizon Move More Challenge

I’ve complained enough about the winter weather that I took a last-minute trip to the Dominican Republic to escape the snow!

Before I settled into my beach chair with my book or podcast, I took a walk through the grounds of the resort to soak up the sights and warm weather!

Then, instead of riding the shuttle to the neighboring resort I walked and then walked some more until it was time to take of the Fitbit Charge and try some water aerobics or hit the water slides at Memories Splash!


So while this wasn’t a week that I did my usual workouts, I did try to get in as many steps as possible while enjoying the wonderful weather! And then I came home to snow followed by rain. But Spring is coming!

The Verizon Wireless Move More Challenge (Official Rules) runs from January 5 to March 31, 2015 and open to all my friends and readers in OH, PA, WV, KY, MI, IN, ND, SD, MN, IA, NE, IL and WI who are interested in adding more activity in their lives.     Your vacation looks amazing! You were smart to sneak outta here for a bit. I am planning s “spring break” trip to GABP and there will be LOTS of walking. I will slso carry one of my kids so that is like having 30 pound weights on your back during a work out.

    I would love a vacation like that. I find I walk a lot more when I’m on vacation. All the sightseeing.

    Vacations are a fun, different way to get in exercise- you just feel better mentally! I love to walk the beach, the street, or even tread water in the deep end. Blake and I just bought a new house with 2 acres – I’m not going to lie, I kind of want a trampoline for myself so I can exercise on it. 🙂 Would that be appropriate, or should I wait until Marty is older so I can use him as an excuse?

    What the crap!? You went to the DR!? You are so cool. I’m so jealous. We haven’t gone anywhere fun. But, I am still going to the gym. That’s fun-ish. Although I have not been as much as I did in January and February. I wonder how much I will go in December. Uggg.

    I wish I were there right now. We are on Spring Break, but it still doesn’t really feel WARM! 🙂 I love that the fitbit has an alarm. How useful! I love that you set it to get moving. Great idea. I hope to do the same!
