Iโm very excited to partner with Verizon Wireless to Host the Verizon Wireless Move More Challenge
Be sure to leave a comment and let me know how you’re moving for your chance to win a Fitbit Charge
For this week’s post, I thought I would explain what makes the Fitbit Charge different than the other Fitbit models.
The Fitbit Charge has multiple display screens, but the tricky part is getting them to photographed before the screen goes black. The display screens are time/date, steps, miles, calories, stairs, and next alarm. Check out Fitbit Charge on the website for more photos and features.
I really love the alarm feature, which saved me from making a fool of myself again at the theater when my Go-To-Bed alarm went off on my phone. Now, I have it on my wrist and it is just a vibration. I also have a wake up alarm and work breaks so I get up and MOVE!
With all this information on my wrist, I don’t often check the app and that might be why when I participate in challenges, I wasn’t fixated or motivated by what others were doing because I only check the app once a week and then look at my weekly stats email.
The Verizon Wireless Move More Challenge (Official Rules) runs from January 5 to March 31, 2015 and open to all my friends and readers in OH, PA, WV, KY, MI, IN, ND, SD, MN, IA, NE, IL and WI who are interested in adding more activity in their lives. Each comment left on my blog posts will serve as entry in the final drawing for one of three Fitbit Charge from Verizon Wireless. If you want to get social, tag your posts with #MoveMoreVZW so I can find them.

March 22, 2015 at 9:45 pmI’ve been walking a lot daily. I get in at least 10,000 steps daily. Love that I’m getting moving.

March 23, 2015 at 12:59 pmBlake and I dislike the weather in KY just like you, so we went to Siesta Key for a week. We walked the beach everyday with a stroller, so the stroller gave me a little bit more of a work-out! We have to pull it together when we want to get off of the beach because of the powdery sand. Blake also ran the Sarasota Half Marathon for the 7th year in a row. I have to say I’m retired from Half Marathons, but I’m still proud of him!

March 23, 2015 at 4:37 pmWe have been on a few field trips lately. We went to the zoo and to the aquarium and to a sugar camp to learn about maple syrup! ha. Don’t be jealous. But, I am exhausted after these excursions and I am hoping its because I have walked a million steps!

March 25, 2015 at 11:33 pmI love the vibration! I have the Polar Loop and it tells you to move but it only helped if I happened to be looking at it.

March 27, 2015 at 4:15 pmI have a pedometer on my phone (that I don’t always have on me) but I track my steps during the day, and on my breaks at work and lunch I walk and try to beat the previous days steps. I have a desk job and before I started trackimg, I was surprised to see I only got about 4000 steps a day!!! I would love something that’s more accurate than my phone (thats not always on me)to see my actual steps. I have however been able to manage up to about 7000 at work alone (when my phone is on me)

March 30, 2015 at 12:06 pmWe are on Spring Break now and I keep telling the kids we are going to go on a few hikes. I am excited to see how many steps I get in on hikes by using the thing on my phone. ๐ Happy Spring!

March 30, 2015 at 6:46 pmi love the ability to set the alarm. Taking a fitness break during the day is something that always gets forgotten. I’m moving… I joined a gym last week. Goal is to make it there 2x a week.

March 30, 2015 at 7:09 pmI’m trying to get up and move more! I’m wearing my old school fit bit (and yearning for a new one) – and I’m trying to be sure I get my 10K steps in every day.

March 30, 2015 at 7:23 pmA few of the ways I have been getting more movement into my work day is by getting my 8+ cups of water in, but using a smaller cup! So I make plenty of trips to the restroom ๐ But I also have to get up and make a trip through the office to fill up the cup more often. It’s beneficial in a few ways!
Also, I will purposely print from a printer that is on a different floor than my desk and walk to someone else’s desk (instead of calling) when I have a quick question for them. Those little things add up, and help fight the afternoon drowsiness too.

March 30, 2015 at 9:30 pmI just had my husband bring the rowing machine from the dark, dingy basement up to the spare room, it’s so much more inviting to get moving!

March 31, 2015 at 9:30 pmVery cool! Do you listen to audiobooks, music or watch television or just zone put into your ride (row?)?

March 30, 2015 at 9:36 pmWhile on vacation this past week, my husband and I went for walks each day and instead of eating out for each meal during the drive down and back we packed healthy snacks like granola.

March 31, 2015 at 9:26 pmYou’re the second person to comment about a trampoline to increase movement – so much fun!
