Black Friday … Cyber Monday … and Small Business Saturday on November 26th.
If you register your American Express card and spend $25 at a small business, you might be eligible to receive a $25 credit on your billing statement. See Facebook, only a limited number of credits are being given, but I don’t know the details but hopefully that is not a deterrent from going out and shopping small businesses whether with cash or a credit card.
I already celebrated mine with a trip to Joseph Williams Home and found end tables to go with the sofa I bought there last year. I really like this shop and the unique style. Then, head across the street to MiCA 12/v for a few other home decor items or art.
I like these shops, they remind me of growing up in Milford (the urbanites are probably clutching their chest and gasping) and shopping the local, small businesses. I had a favorite shop called 100 Fine Gifts because it was on 100 Main Street. The Gift Box in Mt. Lookout reminds me of that store.
There are plenty of small businesses in each of Cincinnati’s neighborhoods and suburbs that should be celebrated and shopped!

November 21, 2011 at 10:34 pmIts actually a foursquare thing ๐ if you connect your foursquare account with your American Express card on their site, then tada! spend money at small businesses, get money back! ๐

November 23, 2011 at 10:24 amI don’t believe it is exclusive to foursquare users in that anyone who wants to take advantage of the credit needs to register her card with AmEx.
I know Foursquare is a supporter of SBS but this day was created last year by AmEx.
