Reading List: Cookbooks!

I used to do this frequently, take a photo of my stack of books and post to Flickr but somewhere along the way I stopped. The top three aren’t cookbooks, but you can see where my thoughts are headed.

I’m really excited to go through these books and find new recipes for fall and winter packed lunches and dinner meal plans.

Already flipping through one book makes me want to write an open letter to food bloggers who aspire to write a book and/or publishers. Give me plenty of photos (library patrons will back me up on this), but don’t give me photos of obvious meals like fried chicken, meatballs and spaghetti and macaroni and cheese. Photograph those recipes that have bizarre titles, that I have no clue what I’m aiming for. Don’t assume every reader is accomplished in the kitchen.

I will have to get some of those cookbooks. I love reading and cooking but I have never had a thought of reading cookbooks. It sounds like a really awesome thing to try.

Homemade Pantry looks neat. I put a hold request at my local library for it 🙂

It is a neat book, the homemade pop tarts drew me in. You might also like Make the Bread, Buy the Butter

I love reading cookbooks, and I think you just gave me a collection that will be reading from now. Thanks.
