Having attended PodCamp and WordCamp in Hawaii, I was ready to change blogging platforms from Blogger to WordPress to take advantage of all WordPress can do AND give my design a makeover, the first in almost three years!
After cycling through and adjusting numerous free themes, I thought I had one until I looked at in IE and it was a mess. Tired and annoyed, I decided to pay for something I could get up and running quickly and chose The Thesis Theme for WordPress. I still need to tweak a few areas and re-link all the images that were previously hosted by Blogger because they cannot be hotlinked but I am much happier than I was Friday night!
I have options which were not possible with Blogger Classic, which is what I had to use since I was FTPing posts to my own server. My archives are on their own page and expandable. Readers can browse categories, which the librarian in me promises not to let get out of control in depth. Since I love photos, on the right side, I will be able to showcase previous posts by creating linkable photos.
