Move Your Bootie

I keep saying I’m going to blog about my gym efforts and I’m slowly getting there. This time I thought I would share some of the music that makes me MOVE! Previously, I’ve mentioned my love of Girl Talk’s albums, but after heavy rotation, I craved something new. I learned of Bootie Blog last year when @toplessrobot played a mixed of their mashups at a party and I was instantly taken.

The thing I like most about Girl Talk and any mashup is when they put a newish song against and older song, like The Gossip and KISS! Do I need to remind you some songs may contain explicit lyrics or do you know if you see an Eazy E or Notorious B.I.G. song that’s a given?

I Was Made For A Heavy Cross (Kiss vs. The Gossip)
Ke$ha Just Wants To Have Fun (Ke$ha vs. Cyndi Lauper)
Party In The Empire State (Jay-Z & Alicia Keys vs. Miley Cyrus)
California Jump (Katy Perry feat. Snoop Dogg vs. Van Halen)
Waiting for Bulletproof at First Sight (La Roux vs. Kylie Minogue vs. Gwen Stefani)
Back To Cali Gurls (Bootie Edit) (Notorious B.I.G. vs. Katy Perry)
Monster Never Can Say Goodbye (Lady Gaga vs. The Communards)

Most friends know I love Mariah but even if I wasn’t a fan I’d wonder why music isn’t used in more mashups (one can only take so much Smells Like Teen Spirit or Lady Gaga tunes). I was pleased to find Heat My Body (Mariah Carey vs. Massive Attack), which is good for ab work.

Scan through the pages and then don’t forget to check out the Best of Bootie CDs for more music.
