Early in December, I am doing a mini album program for tweens but before that happens I will be sitting down with the Teen Librarian to create mock-ups for the program. She booked me for this program after I gave another coworker her 30 & Flirty birthday mini book and saw that it was pretty much created from a cereal box cardboard, covered in scrapbook paper, binder rings covered with ribbon and glue and pen.
Just in case not all participants are interested in creating a mini photo album, I will be making one non-photo album. Inspired by Six Word Memoirs, it will be more of a mini journal.
For those who have been reading my blog for a while and are thinking I post about mini books too much, you might be right, but I love making them! This past year I’ve made the above birthday mini, engagement mini, my tiny happy people mini and I am what I drink mini. When I make them as a gift, I leave parts empty so the recipient can add to it, too. They fun, little and most of all easy to make, but so memorable!
In 2006, I made lunch bag albums and 6×6 paper albums for my college friends as a way to use up the extra photos I had from our college days. Inspired, my coworker did the same and added a CD of music from their college days. She has one friend out of town so she had the others help fill in the book with memories before she sent. How cool will that be for the friend to get that in the mail?!
