Happy Birthday to Me!

sofa

For all my friends who have been annoyed about my lack of sofa, I finally have one. For my mom’s birthday in October, we took the Queen City Underground and the last stop was Joseph Williams Home. By that point, I was separated from my parents but when we regrouped I wanted to show them a sofa and they saw it too and we all knew it was the sofa I had been searching for! It’s not that I cannot make a decision, it is that if I’m going to spend a heap of cash on something, I want to make sure I love it.

I ordered it and was told it would take 6-8 weeks, which I figured with Thanksgiving it would be closer to the 8 weeks or the weekend after my birthday. The timing was such that I was able to get it delivered on my birthday!

As you can see from the before and after, this room is not finished. I’m going to miss my empty space that doubled as a workout room when I’ve been pinched for time, but I think I can make something work in the basement.

Whether it is the Queen City Underground Tours, Joseph Williams Home, Home Depot, Salem Hardware, Lowes, The Door Company or Ikea no one can say that I haven’t supported the economy both locally and beyond as I make improvements to my house and make it a home! Plus, a kitchen remodel is still on my radar…
