Christmas: Shrimp Tree

In a book, I saw a 1960s image of a shrimp tree and decided it would be the perfect kitschy centerpiece for our family Christmas party, especially since we serve shrimp every year. The candy cane elves are my moms, but I’ve called dibs on them ๐Ÿ˜‰

Supplies:
foam cone
lettuce
shrimp (I used 1.25 pounds)
sewing pins (new)
cherry tomato

Wrap lettuce around the foam cone.
Pin shrimp over the lettuce.
Add a cherry tomato on top.
Enjoy!

My niece was blown away by my Christmas Shrimp Tree!

cute baby girl

Maybe because she was taller than the tree ๐Ÿ˜‰

I love it. They will write songs and poems about that shrimp tree some day.

Your niece is so cute. I just love her expression at the gravy boat.

I love the 60’s decorating/party planning/cook books. So many nifty ideas.

oh Kate to have my shrimp tree immortalized in song means I’ve made it on AM radio!

Emmy, I love her expressions and I think even she says no to the gravy boat! At my old library every once in a while we’d get a gem of an old entertaining or cookbook donated.

Do you eat the shrimp or is it just for decoration? Does it need a moat of Shrimp Cocktail sauce to sit in?
