Saturday, February 11 was the inaugural Believers in Better Beer, Bites, and Blogging (5B) Conference in Cincinnati organized by Hoperatives to coincide with Cincinnati Winter Beerfest. It offered three tracks for beer, food and general bloggers so there was something for everyone in attendance.
Our blog conference ticket included VIP admission to Friday’s beerfest and Saturday’s connoisseur lounge, which had delicious food and beer pairings in an area away from the general floor. Being a volunteer on Saturday, I was happy I was not standing in line after line.
As for the conference, I attended another session so I was happy to see What’s Cookin’ Now provide a summary of Lessons from a Live Radio Cooking Show. Their show can be heard in Whitesburg, KY or streamed online. I did not see or hear that it is produced as a podcast, which is my preference.
ShannanB and RadioCarla presented 10 tips to Better blogging and Shannan put her on her professional blog, which is filling up with good information in short posts. Carla mentioned using Twilert to monitor Twitter mentions because it keeps tabs better than Google Alerts or Hootsuite. If you want to incorporate forms in your blog, try Formidable Pro.
Probably the most memorable speaker was Schlafly Beers because beer was given out in addition to the usual swag!
