21 Day Fix Portion Control Snack Bags

When I go to Target I scan through the container section, which is in the same aisle as plastic bags. I try not to buy too many plastic bags, but sometimes they’re handy for portioning out freezer foods.

21 day fix bags from Target

Thanks to social media, I am aware of the 21 Day Fix diet from BeachBody. Until I actually looked at it, I didn’t realize it is very similar to what a couple of dietician have shared with me.

The appealing thing is you eat protein, carbs, vegetables, fruit, healthy fats and oils. What you get with 21 Day Fix is using color-coded containers for each of those categories. If you’re really good at Pinterest, you can find enough resources to great your own bootleg version.

Target sells these color snacks bags, which are great for meal prep portioning out protein (red), carbs (yellow), vegetables (green) and fruit (blue). Don’t forget to use Target’s Cartwheel app for a discount.

Also, at Target these portion control bags. I love trail mix, but if I don’t pour out a certain amount, I’ll shove a bunch in my mouth. And I make my own trail mix instead of buying the kind in the pre-portioned bags, but that works well for some people.

Hopefully both of these affordable options help the lunch packer who wants to practice portion control, but doesn’t want to use plastic containers or reusable bags.

I love using these bags! Especially the colored ones. There is one problem. I went to Target last week to grab some more and they don’t have them now!!! Grrr Argh!!! Really maddening.
