harry connick jr your songsI love music. I cannot sing my way out of a paperbag and I rarely hear the lyrics correctly, but I love listening to music! One favorite genre, if I can call it that, is remakes/cover songs so I was thrilled to get a copy of Your Songs by Harry Connick Jr from One2One Network.

On Your Songs, Harry performs classic songs with a full jazz big band and orchestra. Before playing the CD, I did not read through the track list because I wanted to test my knowledge and see if I could name the original artist (I blanked on three entirely and incorrectly identified another). He does not stray too far from the original verision of these songs, but does add his own flavor to the songs. It proved to be an enjoyable CD that I would play at a dinner or cocktail party or find appropriate in the car for everyone from my 87-year-old Gramma down to my nieces and nephews.

This CD is available through major retailers and if you visit Harry Connick, Jr’s web site you can purchase the Deluxe Limited Edition CD/DVD.

The track list (originally performed by):
All The Way (Frank Sinatra)
Just The Way You Are (Billy Joel)
Can’t Help Falling In Love With You (Elvis Presley)
And I Love Her (The Beatles)
(They Long To Be) Close To You (The Carpenters)
Besame Mucho
The Way You Look Tonight
First Time Ever I Saw Your Face (Roberta Flack)
Your Song (Elton John)
Some Enchanted Evening
And I Love You So (Don McLean)
Who Can I Turn To? (Tony Bennett)
Smile (Charlie Chaplin)
Mona Lisa (Nat King Cole)

Note: One2One Network provided a complimentary copy of this CD with no other compensation.

Harry Connick Jr~ Oh how I got a crush on him after the movie Hope Floats! I also love his voice and thank you for sharing about this CD. Like you, I can’t sing, can’t carry a tune, but I love my music to be on constantly.

I heart Harry. Actually, the music of his I like best are typically Christmas songs. I’m a total grinch and not a fan of Christmas music at all, but when Harry does it, it’s so niiiiiiiice.
