Crafting Cacophony II: More Scrapbooks
Every other month, kel hosts Crafting Cacophony as a way to gather friends for crafting, laughter, food and all that goodness. I participate via blog :)At the first ever Crafting Cacophony, I was working on altering a child's chunky board book into a scrapbook (top right) and now it is finished!
The plan has been to create scrapbooks for my friends as a means to use the double prints I have and give them out when we all meet this coming weekend in Austin. It's not going to happen because two are completed, one needs journaling and three are WIPs.
I have two other friends that I am making scrapbooks for (because I have a lot of prints of them, too) and I have only completed one and another is a WIP.
3 down, 5 to go! Part of what is slowing me down (besides lack of time) is creating a different book from the previous and it takes time to come up with something interesting to journal!
As for the books in the photo, the one on the left is a 6x6 book. The inside pages are 6x12 and the cover is 9x12 folded at 3inches to create interior pockets (to store the extra photos that won't make it into the scrapbook). The center is punched at the top and bottom and ribbon is threaded through with enough to wrap to the outside and serve as a tie close.
The bottom right book is two 4.5x7 pieces of heavy cardboard and the inside pages are from leftover drawing paper that are layered with printed paper. I punched the sides and used ribbon to tie it together.
The next Crafting Cacohphony is May 15 and maybe I will be on the ball and mention it a few days in advance in case others would like to play along!

Yay! I love that you do this! You are awesome! Your friends are going to love the scrapbooks - who wouldn't?
I laughed at your paper hoarding comment... Angie was just describing herself that way. =) I could be, but try not to. When it comes to any one project, I love to pick out the paper or supplies just for that project (and I will anyway even if I have tons of paper on hand).
Those books look great! I wish I had the patience right now to make some, they'd really help calm down my nerves. I had to change everything over at my site, just letting you know..come over and take a peek to see what I mean! I hope you have a wonderful week! =)
Oops, so sorry..I just realized that my blog wasn't appearing in my profile at all. I just learned the helpfulness of posting under the "other" option instead of the "logged in user" option. So now if ya click my name it'll take you right to my blog!
Have a great Wednesday! =)
