I had screening passes for Hollywoodland so my friend and I headed down a little early and stopped at Bar Louie at Newport on the Levee for happy hour cheap eats. After asking about the happy hour specials and learning that only select items were half price and not the $.25 to $1.50 prices listed on their web site*. We decided on the Wednesday Special:
$1 Burgers every Wednesday night 5 p.m. - close
*with the purchase of a beverage
The catch is that it is a plain burger on bun with lettuce. Mustard and ketchup are on the table and mayo, cheese, onions, mushrooms, pickles, etc are $.25-$.50. Our soft drinks cost more than our $1.75 burgers and we split a basket of fries (enough for three, really), so it was a tasty meal for under $10 (before tax & tip).
As for the movie, turtles move faster than it, but at least I did not pay to see it!
*I emailed them to inquire about it and was told it needed to be updated.
